At Petal Black, we are a small, artist-led business committed to delivering thoughtfully designed stationery and art products to enthusiasts across India. Every notebook and diary is crafted with care, and we take great pride in ensuring your order reaches you securely and on time. This Shipping Policy outlines the terms under which we process, dispatch, deliver, and manage orders placed through our Shopify store.
1. Order Processing Time

Standard Orders: All non-customised orders are processed and dispatched within 48 hours of order placement.

Customised Orders: Orders containing personalised or custom-made products may require up to 72 hours for processing.

Sunday Dispatches: Orders scheduled for dispatch on Sunday will be shipped on Monday, as courier operations are limited.
Please note that processing time is separate from transit/delivery time.
2. Shipping Partners
We ship exclusively within India, using trusted delivery partners including Delhivery, Blue Dart, Expressbees, Professional Couriers, DHL, and Amazon Delivery to ensure timely and secure delivery.
3. Estimated Delivery Timelines
Delivery timelines begin after dispatch, not at the time of order placement.

Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh: 3–5 business days

Central India: 4–6 business days

North & East India: 5–10 business days
These timelines are estimates and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather delays, logistics disruptions, remote locations, or public holidays.
4. Shipping Charges

Within Karnataka: ₹30

All Other States: ₹40

Free Shipping: Applied automatically on all orders above ₹500 (cart value after discounts).
5. Cash on Delivery (COD)
COD availability depends on the serviceability of the customer’s pincode.

Up to ₹500 order value: ₹20 COD charge (in addition to standard shipping)

₹500 – ₹1200: ₹30 COD charge

Above ₹1200: ₹40 COD charge
Customers can verify COD eligibility during checkout.
6. Order Tracking
Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a tracking link via email or SMS, enabling you to monitor its progress throughout the delivery process.
7. Packaging Standards
To protect your products during transit, we use:

Waterproof and tamper-proof outer packaging

Premium, aesthetic internal packaging designed to safeguard items from impact or moisture
We take every precaution to ensure your order reaches you in perfect condition.
8. Returns, Replacements & Damage Reporting
At Petal Black, every product is made and packed with meticulous care. As a small business, we follow a strict no-return policy once a product has been delivered, except in cases of manufacturing defects or damage during shipping.
Eligibility for Replacement
You may request a replacement if:

The product arrives damaged,

The product has a verifiable manufacturing defect, or

You receive the wrong item.
How to Report an Issue
Customers must notify us within 72 hours of delivery by emailing info@petalblack.com with:

Clear photos and/or videos of:

The damaged or defective product

The outer packaging

The shipping label

Our team will verify the issue and respond with next steps.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return or replacement unless damaged in transit:

Customised or personalised notebooks

Clearance or sale items
9. Order Cancellation
Customers may cancel an order within 12 hours of placing it.
Cancellations requested after 12 hours may not be accepted if the order has already been processed or dispatched.
10. Failed Delivery Due to Incorrect Address or Unavailability
We attempt to ensure successful delivery through calls, emails, or SMS.
If delivery fails despite multiple attempts due to:

Incorrect/incomplete address, or

Customer unavailability,
The shipment will be returned to Petal Black.
For Non-COD Orders:
A ₹70 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund amount to cover return shipping and handling charges.
The remaining balance will be refunded within 7–14 days after verification.
Reshipping Requests:
Reshipping to the same or a new address may be allowed upon customer request. The customer must bear:
