Refund policy

At Petal Black, we are a small, artist-led business dedicated to delivering thoughtfully designed stationery and art products to customers across India. Each product is crafted with care, and we work hard to ensure secure, timely delivery. This Shipping Policy explains how we process, dispatch, and deliver orders placed on our Shopify store.


1. Order Processing Time

  • Standard Orders: Processed and dispatched within 48 hours of order placement.

  • Customised Orders: May take up to 72 hours for processing.

  • Sunday Dispatches: Orders due to dispatch on Sunday will be shipped on Monday, due to limited courier operations.

Processing time is separate from courier transit time.


2. Shipping Partners

We ship only within India, using reliable logistics partners including:
Delhivery, Blue Dart, Expressbees, Professional Couriers, DHL, and Amazon Delivery.


3. Estimated Delivery Timelines

Delivery timelines start after the order is dispatched:

  • Within Karnataka: 2–3 business days

  • Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh: 3–5 business days

  • Central India: 4–6 business days

  • North & East India: 5–10 business days

Delays may occur due to weather, festivals, remote locations, or courier constraints.


4. Shipping Charges

  • Karnataka: ₹30

  • All Other States: ₹40

  • Free Shipping: Applicable on orders above ₹500 (after discounts)


5. Cash on Delivery (COD)

COD availability depends on pincode eligibility and will be visible during checkout.

COD charges (in addition to standard shipping):

  • Up to ₹500 order value: ₹20

  • ₹500–₹1200: ₹30

  • Above ₹1200: ₹40


6. Order Tracking

Tracking details will be shared via email or SMS once the order is dispatched.


7. Packaging Standards

To ensure your order reaches you safely, we use:

  • Waterproof and tamper-proof outer packaging

  • Premium, aesthetic internal packaging to protect the product


8. Returns, Replacements & Reporting Damage

Petal Black follows a strict no-return policy once a product is delivered, except in cases of:

  • Damage during transit

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Wrong item delivered

How to Report an Issue

Customers must notify us within 72 hours of delivery at:

Please include:

  1. Order ID

  2. Photos/videos of the product

  3. Packaging and shipping label images

Verification is required before issuing a replacement or refund.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Customised/personalised notebooks

  • Clearance items


9. Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled within 12 hours of placement.
After 12 hours, cancellation may not be possible if the order is processed or dispatched.

Customised orders cannot be cancelled once production begins.


10. Failed Delivery, Incorrect Address & Returns to Origin (RTO)

If a courier cannot deliver due to:

  • Incorrect or incomplete address

  • Customer unavailability

  • Refusal to accept the package

  • Failure to respond to courier attempts

We will attempt to contact the customer via phone/SMS/email to reschedule.

If delivery still fails, the order will be returned to Petal Black.

RTO Charges for Non-COD Orders

When a shipment returns to us, the following charges apply:

  • ₹70 cancellation fee, and

  • 15% restocking fee calculated on the total order value

The remaining amount will be refunded within 7–14 days after verification.

Reshipping

Customers may request reshipping to a new or corrected address.
Reshipping charges must be fully paid before dispatch.
